Dr. Reece Malone

Dr. Reece Malone is a distinguished sexologist, holding a Master’s in Public Health and a Doctorate in Human Sexuality. His advanced studies led to certification in sex therapy, along with being recognized as a certified sexuality educator and education supervisor by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. Dr. Malone has achieved Diplomate status with the American Board of Sexologists, consistently demonstrating years of commitment to excellence and innovation in the field. In addition to a thriving private practice, he imparts his knowledge as an adjunct professor at Antioch University Seattle’s Couple and Family Therapy Department and sits on the Human Rights Committee of Council for the City of Winnipeg.

Dr. Reece Malone is the CEO and founder of Sexuality Consultants and Support Services Manitoba, Inc., and its subsidiary company Diversity Essentials. A tireless advocate for sexual health and comprehensive human sexuality education, Dr. Malone actively contributes to public health campaigns, delivers professional development and training, and offers invaluable consultation on sexual health policy and programming.

At the core of his therapeutic practice is a commitment to client collaboration, fostering an environment where individuals and relationships are truly understood, valued, and respected.

Internationally recognized as a distinguished sexologist, speaker, trainer, and public health and education policy analyst, Dr. Malone has lent his expertise to prestigious organizations such as The World Health Organization – Pan American Health Organization, The Canadian Human Rights Commission, The Public Health Agency of Canada, The Alberta Children’s Hospital, and the District of Columbia Department of Health. A sought-after media source on contemporary sexuality issues, he has been featured on CBC National, CBC Radio, and Global National, and has contributed to esteemed publications such as Canadian School Counsellor, Family Therapy Magazine, Men’s Journal, and Women and Men Magazine. Dr. Malone’s influence extends to academia, where he has served as guest faculty for institutions including Widener University Center for Human Sexuality Studies, University of Guelph Couple and Family Therapy Program, and The University of Manitoba Faculties of Education, Nursing, Medicine and Departments of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Respiratory Therapy.

In collaboration with Mariotta Gary Smith, Marla Renee Stewart, and Dr. James Wadley, Dr. Malone lead and co-edited the groundbreaking work, “An Intersectional Approach to Sex Therapy: Centering the Lives of Indigenous, Racialized, and People of Color,” published by Routledge Press. Anticipated in 2024/25, his second lead book, “Fundamental Concepts and Critical Developments in Sex Education (inaugural edition),” co-edited with Dr. Tracie Gilbert, Dr. Catherine Dukes, and Justine Ang Fonte, promises to be a seminal contribution to the field.

Recognized for his commitment to patient engagement research, Dr. Malone, alongside research colleagues Dr. Robin Westmacott, Matt Francino Caron, and Holden Conner, has been honored with the George and Fay Yee Centre for Healthcare Innovation award. Additionally, he is a recipient of a Manitoba Medical Services Foundation grant for his work examining healthcare barriers and mental health outcomes experienced by gender-diverse Manitobans.

As a qualified expert in trans and non-binary adult health, Dr. Reece Malone has testified as an expert witness to the Manitoba Board of Adjudication for the Manitoba Human Rights Commission, further solidifying his impact in the field.
